Margie began her professional life at the University of Chicago working with adolescent girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) under the direction of Dr. Bruno Bettelheim. In Los Angeles she worked at the Dubnoff Center as a teacher of children ages five to nine years with autism and other complex behavioral issues. While studying for a graduate degree at the University of Southern California she worked as a teacher in the USC Demonstration Preschool. She returned to Dubnoff to join a Federally Funded project serving children, birth to five, with complex special needs. On this project she worked with toddlers, 18 months to 3 years, and their families. This was followed by the opportunity, for 21 years, to direct the Child Life Program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. In 1994 Margie founded Child Development Media, Inc. to publish and distribute training resources for academic institutions and programs for children worldwide. She is a founding board member of the Infant Development Association of CA, the Chase Foundation, and Mifne USA.
